Remy Choo Zheng Xi - Director, Peter Low & Choo LLC
Remy Choo Zheng Xi is a public interest lawyer who also runs a commercial litigation practice. Remy has argued several leading cases involving novel points of law of public interest. Most recently, Remy was defence counsel in the first prosecution under the Administration of Justice Protection Act, Attorney-General v Wham Kwok Han Jolovan and Public Prosecutor v. Kong Hoo Pte Ltd, a judgement of a 5 Judge Court of Appeal which definitely set out the definition of transit under the Endangered Species Act. Remy was also counsel in Attorney-General v Ting Choon Meng, a case involving the definition of “persons” under the Protection from Harassment Act. Remy is currently defending the editor of The Online Citizen in proceedings for criminal defamation, and is on the team attempting to repeal Section 377A of the Penal Code, which will be heard in the High Court in November 2019.
