Esther Ng - Psychotherapist, MySpace Psychotherapy Services Pte Ltd
Esther Ng is a practicing psychotherapist with a Masters in Art Therapy. Her work experience using art, sand and play as a modality in psychotherapy includes populations such as children in transition, terminally ill patients, teens and adults experiencing trauma, loss and grief, addiction, self-harm, anxiety, panic, depression and other psychiatric disorders. Apart from clinical intervention work, she is also a popular psychotherapist providing professional self-care and personal therapy for professionals in the medical, teaching, architecture, engineering, media, financial and other professions seeking a safe space for personal therapy. Prior to becoming an Art Psychotherapist, Esther received her Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Studies from the University of Melbourne. Esther has worked with children, youth and families over the past 30 years.
In 2005, Esther founded the nonprofit organization, Coalition Against Bullying for Children and Youth (CABCY). Her advocacy and research work has won her much regard from local and international organizations. In recognition of her continuous passion to advocate for children and youth, Esther received the ChannelNewsAsia Singapore Woman of the Year Award 2009.
Esther is a well-received speaker at conferences and workshops in Singapore and internationally, on issues such as parenting, social emotional and mental issues of children and adults such as anger, fear, anxiety, bullying, addiction and topics related to creative and clinical processes of art therapy. She is also a member on the Panel of Advisor to the Youth Court in Singapore.
