The Honourable Justice Louise Henderson –  Family Court of Australia

Justice Henderson began her legal career at the Deputy Crown Solicitors Office in 1977 where she worked for 8 years. In 1988 she was appointed as a Deputy Registrar in the Family Court and continued in that role until 1992. She then left the Court and worked as the Head of Family Law at Colin Biggers & Paisley from 1992 until 1995 at which time she returned to the Family Court as a Registrar between 1995 to 1999, before being promoted to the position of Senior Registrar where she worked for four years.

She was then called to the Bar in 2003 and practiced as a Barrister from 2003 to 2005, appearing regularly in the Federal Magistrates Court (as it then was), the Family Court of Australia and the District Court in relation to de facto matters.

In 2005 she was appointed to the Bench of the Federal Magistrates Court (as it then was) and continued in that role until 2019 when she was appointed as a Justice of the Family Court.
