Kee Lay Lian – Partner, Rajah & Tann Singapore LLP
Kee Lay Lian graduated from the National University of Singapore in 1985 and is called to the bar in 1986.
She is listed as Preeminent family lawyer in Leading Singapore Family for Divorce Lawyers, 2015 by Doyles Family Lawyer Guide and Leading Lawyer in Benchmark Litigation Asia Pacific 2019 Edition for being a Dispute Resolution Star for Family and Matrimonial Practice and Private Clients.
Lay Lian has joined her firm when it was a firm of 5 lawyers. The firm has grown to a full service law practice of about 350 lawyers with regional presence in South East Asia. She has practised various areas of law as a commercial litigator, and her focus has been on family law, mental capacity/elderly law and trust and succession and Private Client matters in the last 30 years.
She is on the panel of associate mediators of collaborative family lawyers with the Singapore Mediation Centre.
She is the co-chair of the Law Society of Singapore Family Law Practice Committee as well as the Probate Practice Committee. She is also actively involved in teaching young lawyers and is a facilitator of the Singapore Institute of Legal Education in the Family Law and Wills, Probate and Administration courses.
Lay Lian is also a committee member of the Family Justice Rule Working Party and was a member of the Working Group to simplify the Judicial Process under the Mental Capacity Act appointed by the Chief Justice.
Lay Lian is on the panel of Parenting Coordinators of the Family Justice Courts. She is also a member of the Society of Trusts and Estates Practitioners.
Lay Lian is also a member on the Legal Information Committee of the Singapore Armed Forces Reservist Association (SAFRA) offering pro bono legal information / advice to the SAFRA members.
